Elliott Vince
// Co-Founder and Head Instructor
Hi! I’m Elliott. I am a co-founder and instructor at CodersBlock. In addition, I am a graduate of Ursuline College Chatham, and I just finished my first year in Computing at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. I started programming when I was 13, creating custom plugins for the Minecraft server I owned. Since then, I have programmed many applications – chatrooms, portfolio simulators, video games, and more! I often compare programming to playing in a sandbox – all you need is a computer, and you can build whatever you imagine! Through CodersBlock, I want to share that idea and love for programming with other students.
While at UCC, I tutored high school students in senior mathematics and science courses. Moreover, I received a Schulich Leader Scholarship – Canada’s most prestigious undergraduate STEM scholarship – in 2023. On top of that, I have a strong work ethic and imagination. I love the creative process of turning ideas into tangible products. In my time off, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, helping on my family farm, and playing piano. I am super excited to embark on this journey with CodersBlock, and I hope to meet you there!
Klare Rumble
// Co-Founder & Instructor
Hello! My name is Klare Rumble and I have been a resident of Chatham Kent for 19 years - my whole life. I am a graduate of Ursuline College Chatham and was the recipient of several awards during my time in high school including the Andrew Bacic Memorial Award and the Lasertoma Youth Service Award. Presently, I just completed the first year of my undergraduate degree in computer science and software engineering at Carleton University. Before departing for Ottawa, I worked at Village on the Ridge in Ridgetown for 3 years and had the incredible opportunity to connect with so many residents during my time there. When I am not working or at school, I enjoy participating in local dance classes, rocking out on my guitar or dabbling in a variety of visual arts.
Entering into the computer science program meant a lot to me as my love for programming began 9 years ago when I attended the Curiosity program through my school. This program gave me not only the drive to pursue programming outside of school, but it also taught me valuable skills that can be applied to everyday life. When I was approached with the idea to teach programming to students, I saw an opportunity to make the same impact that the Curiosity program had made on me. That is my hope for CodersBlock, and I cannot wait to spark the same enthusiasm for programming into the next generation of students!
How CodersBlock Started...
Elliott and Klare met in high school and were classmates throughout Grades 9-12. Both were in French Immersion and computer science, which became topics they bonded over. In 2023, they entered into post-secondary studies to pursue computer science. Following the completion of their first year, Elliott brought the idea of creating a summer camp to Klare, who gladly joined in. They founded CodersBlock in April 2024 to provide accessible, interactive, and fun programming courses to students in Chatham-Kent.
